Role Overview

Sedai is looking for a Sales Engineer to support prospects through their decision process around our autonomous cloud platform. In this role, you will be responsible for building high-quality demos and managing customer product evaluations. This role will require a unique blend of Platform and Data Engineering skills, as well as experience with FinOps.

You’ll work closely with the founding engineering team to design and execute evaluations that enable intelligent, autonomous cloud optimization. This is a high-impact role that requires deep technical expertise, a strong problem-solving mindset, and a passion for automation and scalability.

What You’ll Do

• Build and present high quality technical demos to prospects early in the sales process.
• Support sales team with product and technical expertise to ensure customers understand the value of our solution.
• Support sales team with technical discovery to ensure that we’re investing in the right prospective customer engagements
• Own the technical validation portion of the sales cycle in guiding our prospects through structured, milestone-driven POVs, leading to a technical win. 
• Build technical champions during the sales process
• Work with Product and Engineering to ensure that prospect feedback is shared and properly prioritized
• Support technical marketing activities (webinars, blogs, etc) and events as necessary to help the company become better positioned in the marketplace
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system observability, security, and operational excellence.
• Support customer implementations and troubleshooting as needed.
• Contribute to technical leadership, mentoring, and fostering best practices in the Go-To-Market organization.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in sales / solutions engineering with a focus on IT operations, platform engineering, data engineering, and/or related specialties.
• Proven expertise in building and optimizing large-scale, high-performance distributed systems and/or micro-services based architectures.
• Strong understanding of data and system design for scalability and efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with at least one CSP (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, and cloud-native applications.
• Passion for automation, intelligent systems, and optimizing cloud workloads.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Bonus Points

These are “nice to haves”, so don’t worry if you don’t check all these boxes.

• Expertise in Kubernetes, or a Kubernetes certification is a big plus
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience working with IaC and CI/CD
• Experience in FinOps, or a FinOps certified practitioner.
• A certification from a major cloud provider
